La Quinta High School Instrumental Music currently offers two string orchestras: intermediate – open to all; and advanced – audition only. Both ensembles typically perform at 3 concerts a year (Fall Concert in October, Holiday Concert in December, and Pops Concert in April). LQIM is often visited by clinicians and composers (such as Richard Meyer). LQIM string quartets perform at community and school events. Additionally the string orchestra has established a record of earning Superior ratings at festivals.
